私は「境界線主義」（boundaryism）という概念を提唱し、対極する要素の間の境界を探求し、その交差点で生まれる芸術的価値を探ることに挑戦しています。縄文時代から続く漆を用い、プリミティブアートを現代の視点で再解釈することで、過去と現在、伝統と革新の融合を目指しています。プリミティブアートの影響を受けたとされるキュビズムやシュルレアリスム、岡本太郎（1911-1996）の対極主義の文脈を受けながら、相反する要素の共存から境界線へと視点を移し、新たな芸術の地平を模索しています。
AIの進化により物理的世界とデジタル空間の境界が曖昧になる現代において、視覚だけでなく想像の奥行きをも含む新しい「奥行き」を現代のキュビズムとして捉えています。リアルとデジタル、フェイクと現実の区別が難しくなる時代に、プリミティブアートの文脈から人間の本質を理解し、現代との共通点や差異を見つけ出すことが重要だと考えています。
私は境界を探求し、作品として可視化することで新しい視点を提供し、社会に豊かな価値をもたらすことを目指しています。過去と現在、伝統と革新、リアルとデジタルが交差する地点で新たな芸術の可能性を探ることで、現代社会における芸術の役割を再定義していきたいと思っています。
Artist Statement
I advocate the concept of "boundaryism," which challenges us to explore the boundaries between opposing elements and the artistic values that emerge at their intersection. By reinterpreting primitive art from a contemporary perspective using lacquer, which has been used since the Jomon period, I aim to fuse the past with the present, tradition with innovation. Taking the context of cubism and surrealism, which are said to have been influenced by primitive art, and the contrarianism of Taro Okamoto (1911-1996), I shift my perspective from the coexistence of conflicting elements to the boundary line and explore a new artistic horizon.
In our age where the boundary between the physical world and digital space is blurring due to the evolution of AI, I see contemporary cubism as a new "depth" that includes not only visual but also imaginary depth. In an age when it is increasingly difficult to distinguish between real and digital, fake and real, I believe it is important to understand human nature in the context of primitive art and to find commonalities and differences with the contemporary world.
By exploring boundaries and visualizing them in my work, I aim to provide new perspectives and bring richer value to society. By exploring new artistic possibilities at the intersection of past and present, tradition and innovation, and real and digital, we hope to redefine the role of art in contemporary society.
